What areas do you serve?
Mainly the Kansas City area. Where do your guinea pigs come from? All of our guinea pigs come from our community as rescues or surrenders. How much does it cost to adopt? Single Piggies: $50 (only if they are going to a home with another piggie) Pair or Trio: $85 (same price for 2 or more of the same gender) Neutered Male: $170 (when available) Pair or Trio with a Neutered Male: $195 Single Skinny Pig: $170 (when available) Pair or Trio with a Skinny Pig: $210 We try to keep adoptions as affordable as we can to encourage adopting over buying from pet stores. Much of our funding comes from donations and from our own pockets. Do you take credit cards? Yes. There is a credit card charge of 3%. What's your "Return" Policy? We will take back or exchange any guinea pig if there is a problem within 2 weeks after you bring them home. A problem can include not getting along with their cage mate(s), getting sick, refusing to eat, etc. Any problems like these, if they occur at all, most likely will occur within the first 2 weeks. We will try to help you fix any problems first. After all, they are living creatures and it does take them time to warm up to you and their new environment. Common behaviors that are considered normal in the adjusting process include not drinking much water and hiding a lot. If you hand feed treats and food that are high in water content like lettuce and fruits, it usually helps with common adjustment issues. The adoption fee is non-refundable but we will do our best to rectify any issues. If, for any reason, you find you need to rehome the guinea pigs you adopted from us, even years from now, please feel free to contact us!! We would rather have them come back to us than go anywhere else! Once a Popcorn Pet, Always a Popcorn Pet!

Are the guinea pigs fixed?
No. We may receive a few that have been spayed or neutered, but it is rare. Fixing a guinea pig is very costly because they are so small and require an exotic veterinarian to perform the procedure. And, unlike dogs and cats, fixing a guinea pig does not influence their behavior. We will spay or neuter only if there is a medical need for it.
